Natural Sulfates

The sulfates in some foods occur naturally such as in wines or balsamic vinegar. These items I have reactions, but there are also "natural" sulfates in garlic, eggs, meat, etc. These items I have not had reactions to. Is it possible that as my allergy progresses, it may begin to include these items too? Does anyone else have reactions to these items due to their sulfonamide allergy?

I too have sulfites allergies and break out into hives upon eating them. Uncoked or partially cooked onions and garlic are a problem. Also recently I have found that fresh sweet corn is also a problem; dimthyl sulfide given corn its characteristic taste.

After 5 years of having problem with Sulfa/pills...it's taken over my food now. And yes a trip to the "organic" grocery store proved less than 20% was organic. I am coming off of a raw, vegetable and fruit diet to clean my system and have I have no problem with eggs, meats (except pork) and will let you know on the garlic. I did have a Lara bar yesterday and got sick instantly? -Ingredients: Banana, Almond and dates. Has anyone else tried one? It's supposed to be 100% raw organic. I also had a teaspoon of mayo today on my letus wraps (I know, I know) I'm can't stop itching and my face is on fire!
I am dying for any type of bread anyone might have been able to find? It's just the yeast I have to worry about right?
Also anyone tried or had a reaction to “unsulfured” or Black Molasses?

Speaking of molasses, I have a good one for you. I had some frozen ginger snap dough for Christmas cookies. Just scooping out the dough from the Tupperware and rolling in my hands to make little balls before placing on cookie sheet sent me running for the Benadryl. Have to laugh, cuz that's a new one to me. And I didn't taste even a speck of the dough. Don't remember if it's unsulfured, since I threw out the jar prior to freezing the dough.

so glad I found u here...excuse bad typing because I am hen-pecking here. I ate a veggie sandwich at portillo's yesterday and now I can't move my right elbow and my left hand. i am 41 and in the process of being diagnosed with sulfite allergy. i have been very ill for 2 years and drs thought i had auto immune disease but it turns out it's sulfites. it has progressed very rapidly in the last few months. I am the mither of 3 little kids and i run around constantly so making everything from scratch is like a nightmare to me. (i am not much of a cook either.) i seem to have had trouble with many things, but natural sulfites that bother me include beets. i wish i could get help with a shopping list or easy recipes for things to make or grab in a hurry. I am so miserable right now...usually happy, fun person and now so depressed. I am also pissed I can't drink wine anymore lol looking for network of fellow sufferers for support.

I suffered with Chronic Hives for 4 years. An allergist suggested I go on Salicylate free diet. Almost immediately I had relief. However, as I had foods that are sulfurous, I still react terribly.
I have now developed Dermagraphia, so whenever I scratch or bump into something my skin turns bright red with welts.
I am wanting to do a week or two of eating no sulfur foods to give my system a break but have had trouble finding a list of foods that I can eat, only foods I shouldn't.
Could someone please give me some suggestions?
Thank You!

I have the opposite problem. I seem to be having rash problems from eating products with unsulfured molasses. Molasses with sulfides are not a problem. When I consume unsulfured molasses, I have red itchy bumps all over. If anyone has this problem, let me know.
