- At the age of 17, I developed an allergy to Bactrium as well as the sulfates in things such as body washes. Little did I know that at the age of 32, I would end up in the ER because I had lemon juice concentrate in my water. I have gone to an allergist and all he could do was confirm my allergy and tell me to read labels. Too bad not all items that contain sulfates are listed because they are part of another ingredient. That's where this blog comes in. It is designed for those who have similar allergies as me to help each other.

I was wondering if anyone here know of any at-home way to know if there are any sulfites in certain foods. I’ve noticed I have a slight reaction with some of my favorite foods and drinks, and I want to see if it’s due to my sulfite allergy. I don’t want to give up those items if I don’t have to. I’d really appreciate any help!
I would recommend you visit http://sulfitecheck.com/. I’ve used a few of their tests before, and they are pretty straightforward and easy to use. Not to mention the test strips aren’t expensive at all.
